A Recent Report on Fantasy Battles

The chaos moon Morrslieb's orbit took it directly in front of Mannslieb, casting a great green shadow-ring upon the old world. Creatures of myth began to stir from ancient slumber. Just outside the small Bretonnian town of Ermahgerdsdon, low from the mysterious tangle of Athel Loren could be heard a voice, "ah fuck it, ill just add a dragon to my 2400 list."

And thus began this 3000 warhammer battle. I, Wooster Shooster, took an illegal list, by simply tacking a dragon special character of 595 points onto my 2400 Wood elf list. My opponents (who should feel free to add a less biased commentary here) shared the 3000 between skaven and dark elves.

Some wood elf deployment:

Skaven and Dark Elf deployment:

This is my favorite of the lot. Plague monks taking position in some poor sod's yard.

The wood elves deployed almost entirely to the left flank, facing off against the skaven. On the right flank, poised against a smaller, elite force of elves I placed some horsemen, some dryads and a dragon.
The dragon was able to boost to T8 turn 1, survive a S10 cannonball T2, and get into terror causing range by the end of three, finishing the game by stomping and eating the black guard to a man.

Dryads vs slaves isn't the most exciting combat. Not too bad I suppose.

Here lady Eboshi, sensing impending doom from a pegasus mounted dark prince (master?), teleports as far to the left as possible. In the next turn I was able to readjust and get the bsb into range of treeman, treekin.

Dragon behind dark elf lines. No bolt throwers in 1500 points ^-^

This cannon got in 3 good turns of firing at the dragon, seeing 1 misfire, 1 strength 10, one fall short. Then the crew got eaten by an eagle. Yum yum.
I was really impressed that both eagles, crucially, survived to the end of the game. One was able to get into the cannon, the second tipped a crucial combat with a flank charge.

Being forced to turn and fight to the far flank.

Treekin flee, rally, and take cover behind a fence. Treeman finishes the game on one would and nets an entire plague monk unit

Pretty cool.

nom nom nom. S2 breath weapon sucks.

  1. Noice.
That well ties everything together so perfectly. I don't know why Darko and Ben didn't take any shooting, but they payed the price when it came to your beasties.

    1. Ill tell you why I didn't. It's because Ben told me he was going to handle shooting. Somebody should ask him how he handled a dragon and a fucktrain of arboreal avatars in the end.
